good music is anything with a positive meesage, and you can call it good music, even if it has a bad message but in that you have to be able to tell if you are subconciously believeing what you hear, the important matter for me is that i can listen to "bad-messagaed music' which i usually dont but i dont let in fool me "mentally" sometimes certain types of music can have a power over you and you don even realize it, thats why its always good to take a look back and actually listen and to what you listen to, and music can somewhat reflect on ones personality, by popular choice because its liking of opinion, which is important becuase thats what you tend to think. its always good to venture off and hear differnt things because you might end up liking it, try the old saying" you never know until you try it" (let me add something (with an open mind) going into something new with the mindset of no opinion is the bEST!=)

people say that our generation's music is bad; that it lacks substance. and in the large scheme of things, I have 2 agree; commercially speaking that is. our music largely negates the need for originality; it lacks depth; there is no creativity... "musicians," if they can even truly be called as such, are not into making music for the art of it; but only for money. and as we all should know when one plunders anything, sheerly for making a profit, the damages can be all but irrevocable and leave that area forever changed; and not for the better.but again, we're talking about our generation's music on a commercial level...and trust: I do believe that save for a few artists who are musically of merit; our generation's music could easily be deemed as "shot to hell"...but those few artists who have made it their goal to bring hip hop, and even other types of music, like neo soul, back to its truest essence, to carry the "goodness" of our generation's music. and b/c of them I can't completely cast our music into an abyss. all in all, our music, on a surface level, lacks the components that make true music, just that. but beneath the surface, in the concious & underground hip hop & neo soul movement, which is what I deem as "my" generation's music, in its truest & now rarest form thrives: you just have to look deep enough to find it...
